You arms are quivering, your grip is slipping, but you know you can muster one last pull-up if it means beating your personal best, and more importantly the group of coworkers with whom you're openly competing. Bam! You won the challenge. Amy vows to get you next time. And you know that reason alone will inspire her. That's the nature of group workouts.
Small group classes afford you the attention of a personal trainer to program your exercises, cue your movements, and motivate you and a few others who share similar goals. Occasionally we create reward-based challenges for the entire group or between individuals to further motivate and create additional accountability. This not only brings out a little playful competitiveness within the group, but also gets individuals to realize new personal achievements and to unlock hidden potential.
